The timing game

How long is
4.02 seconds?

Everybody knows the target. Nobody sees the clock. Closest wins.

One target for the whole group

Add 3–10 players. The app chooses a target between 2 and 8 seconds, shown to two decimal places. Everyone plays against that same target.

Start. Count. Stop.

When it’s your turn, tap Start timer. The screen confirms that the timer is running, but the elapsed time stays hidden. Tap Stop when you think you’ve reached the target.

Each player gets one attempt. Pass the phone to the next person; the app keeps the results hidden until everybody has played.

The closest time wins

Being early and being late count equally. Your score is the distance between your attempt and the target, using the hundredths of a second shown in the results.

Target: 4.02 seconds

AttemptDistance
3.95 s0.07 s early
4.05 s0.03 s late — wins
4.21 s0.19 s late

If two players are equally close at the displayed precision, they share the win. There is no hidden extra decimal used to break the tie.

Keep it fair

No checking a watch or another phone. Decide together whether people may count out loud, and use the same rule for everyone. Let each person control their own Start and Stop taps.

An interrupted attempt can be retried. Completed attempts stay saved for that round. A rematch gives everyone a fresh target.

No imposter in this one

This is a timing competition: no secret roles, no discussion phase and no vote. If your group wants a little deception next, try Classic or Draw & Bluff.
